Project Coordinator

We are hiring a full-time Project Coordinator to support a large public capital project program working from the client’s office and our office in South Boston.

Essential Job Duties
The Project Coordinator will work closely with the Engineering Project Manager and provide technical and administrative support to the project team. Duties and responsibilities may include but are not limited to:
• Project meetings documentation
• Attend all project meetings, prepare Meeting Minutes and circulate for review
• Make revisions, finalize minutes, distribute and file final documents
• Manage related action items, track/log and request responses in a timely manner
• Project submittals management and coordination
• Track and maintain project submittals, including plans and drawings
• Monitor submittals status, and due dates, and follow up with appropriate team members within strict time deadlines
• Project Documents Coordination
• Prepare and maintain project records, including meeting agendas
• Review documents for accuracy and completeness

Qualifications
• A Bachelor’s Degree is preferred, or equivalent work experience

Required Skills
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Solid proof-reading and quality control skills
• Careful attention to detail and accuracy is a must
• Must have excellent organizational and coordination skills
• Ability to work independently without detailed direction or supervision
• Excellent time management skills and ability to meet deadlines
• Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite
• Enthusiasm for learning and a positive personality

Project Controls MANAGER

Join our dynamic Project Controls team and contribute to the growth of our construction services consulting firm.

We are looking to hire an experienced candidate who will enjoy working collaboratively overseeing Cost Estimating and Scheduling staff, while providing the highest quality of services to our clients in engineering, public and private construction.

Essential Duties

  • Direct oversight of 3–4 Project Controls Specialists.
  • Manage team by assigning tasks, managing workload, coordinating with client and stakeholders, and providing Quality Assurance/Quality Control of project deliverables.
  • Attend internal and external project-related meetings as required.
  • Responsible for review and management of assigned projects, including budget and performance to plan for all active assigned projects.
  • Provide leadership, ensure timely and collaborative communication with clients, and assist clients with maintaining and managing project and program level schedules.
  • Ensure adherence to contracted scope of work, that work is being processed in the most efficient manner, and resolve areas of client concern.
  • Participate in and lead project planning and scheduling review meetings and assist with communication and coordination of schedule input to project stakeholders.
  • When necessary, carries out all the duties of the Project Controls Specialists, including hands-on development of estimating and scheduling deliverables, and other duties typically assigned to the Project Controls Staff.

 Qualifications

  • BA/BS degree in Civil Engineering is preferred; Management or Business Administration in a related field is also accepted.
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in construction project scheduling, estimating, controls, budgeting, and database management on capital projects, or equivalent work experience.
  • Experience with public transportation agencies such as MassDOT, MBTA, RIDOT or similar client types.
  • Prior experience in road, bridge, aviation, and/or rail projects, along with municipal or commercial building projects is preferred.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to work successfully with contractors and consultants, of providing a high quality of service to clients and maintaining client satisfaction.

Required Skills

  • Knowledge of cost estimating tools such as Sage Estimating, MCACES MII, OnScreen Takeoff, Bluebeam, RS Means, or others.
  • In-depth knowledge of Excel as a tool for calculations and formatting of technical reports.
  • Working knowledge of cost control, budgeting, and office automation software such as e-Builder, Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Access, Project).
  • Understanding of relational databases and database report writer tools such as MSAccess.
  • Knowledge of earned value methodology, scope control, and change management.
  • Familiar with basic cost analysis and forecasting as it relates to planning and scheduling. Have a clear understanding of plans and specifications for developing estimates.
  • Hands-on scheduling experience and working knowledge of Oracle Primavera P6 and MSProject.
  • Working knowledge of field construction assemblies, sequencing, and duration of work.
  • Ability to develop construction schedules, incorporate changes to schedule baselines and updates.
  • Familiar with construction contracting and the scheduling implications of contract terms.
  • Ability to resource load schedule and perform remedial schedule risk analysis.

Senior Cost Estimator

SENIOR Cost Estimator

 

We are looking to hire an experienced Cost Estimator who will enjoy working collaboratively with our dynamic Project Controls team, which provides consulting services for a broad range of clients and projects–public and private.

Essential Job Duties

  • Perform quantity takeoffs on drawings using on-screen methods and quantity reports
  • Review and develop estimates, change orders, and time impact determinations for heavy civil and vertical projects, including railroads, bridges, highways, industrial buildings, and laboratories
  • Perform order of magnitude, schematic and detailed bottom-up estimates
  • Create narrative executive reports and detail reports for estimated deliverables
  • Develop templates for estimates and spreadsheets for executive summary deliverables
  • Build detailed engineering cost reports, change notices, and other cost control tools
  • Analyze and validate estimates performed by others
  • Maintain and update local databases of items and assemblies
  • Create local labor tables for market segments per project
  • Conform deliverables to clients’ expectations and industry standards

Qualifications

  • A Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or equivalent work experience in construction
  • 2 years of experience in cost estimating, controls, budgeting, and database management on capital projects
  • A clear understanding of construction plans and specifications for estimate development
  • Working knowledge of CSI work breakdown and division structures, including Uniformat and Masterformat
  • Knowledge of cost estimating tools such as Sage Estimating, MCACES MII, On-Screen-Takeoff, Bluebeam Revu, RSMeans, or others
  • In-depth knowledge of Excel as a tool for calculations and formatting of technical reports

Public Outreach Specialist

he Public Outreach Manager develops and implements public outreach and awareness programs on behalf of clients. The purpose of each program is to deliver strategic, responsive communications services that inform and engage public stakeholders regarding the schedule, scope, impacts, and benefits of public infrastructure projects and private developments.

It is anticipated that the selected candidate will be assigned full-time to a dynamic, multi-year contract as a departmental Communications Lead supporting a government agency at a senior level. The Public Outreach Manager will serve as an embedded member of a cross-functional management team focused on driving transformative and sustainable cultural change within the organization and publicly reporting on milestones and progress via internal and public-facing media channels. This is a highly strategic, deadline-driven role requiring senior-level expertise in the development and implementation of internal and public-facing multimedia programs supporting the initiatives of the agency.

 

Essential Job Duties

  • Work closely with clients to develop and execute complex local and regional outreach and awareness campaigns for projects, in compliance with state and federal policy
  • Closely coordinate project design and construction decisions with elected officials, regulatory agencies, environmental justice organizations, business leaders, civic groups, and abutting neighborhoods to promote consensus and coalition building
  • Research and develop detailed public involvement plans, stakeholder engagement plans, and public outreach strategy documents
  • Develop marketing, design, and communication materials on behalf of clients
  • Facilitate public meetings, in-person and virtual
  • Create multimedia content, strategy, and management
  • Organize and host virtual events with a large group of people with Zoom, Teams, or similar virtual platform
  • Support project and community planning efforts with various forms of data collection
  • Assist with proposal writing and business development
  • Participate in project planning and scheduling
  • Attend client and team meetings, issue agendas and minutes
  • Develop and maintain detailed stakeholder contact databases
  • Provide support to clients and other team members and help meet deadlines for internal and external deliverables

Required Skills

  • Well-versed in content planning and creative communication strategies
  • Demonstrated oral and written communication skills
  • Strong Microsoft Office Suite skills, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
  • Event scheduling experience, with excellent organizational and time management skills
  • Familiar with virtual meeting platforms (i.e. Microsoft Teams, Zoom)
  • Social media savvy and familiar with social media marketing tools
  • Ability to build strategic customer relationships and ensure client satisfaction
  • Ability to coordinate and work in concert with clients, team members, other contractors and consultants
  • Ability to problem-solve, prioritize deliverables, maintain schedules, and flexibility to adapt to last-minute changes and issues

Qualifications

  • A Bachelor’s Degree in Communications, Public Relations, Political Science, or equivalent professional experience
  • 5+ years of experience in communications, public relations, legislative affairs, public or private construction project administration
  • Knowledge of local, State, and Federal public engagement policies and protocols, the MA State Open Meeting Law, Environmental Justice populations, accessibility requirements, and knowledge of municipal and state agencies are preferred
  • Prior experience in road, bridge, transportation, rail, or construction industries is a plus

Marty Nee, Director of Public Outreach
As the Communications Manager on the MBTA’s Green Line Extension project, Marty proved himself to be an effective leader on major capital programs. With over 30 years of experience in communications and public relations, Marty will be a valuable resource for our clients as he oversees our vast portfolio of Public Outreach projects.

Lakshmi Sabbisetty, Director of Project Controls
