Staff Accountant

City Point Partners is a construction services firm serving the engineering and construction industries. We are looking to hire a full-time Staff Accountant to join our team.

Essential Job Duties

  • Maintain financial reports, records, and general ledger accounts.
  • Perform monthly balance sheet reconciliations.
  • Prepare journal entries, analyses, account reconciliations, and assist with monthly close processes while ensuring compliance with GAAP.
  • Perform Accounts Payable duties.
  • Assist with Accounts Receivable, employees payroll and expenses reimbursement.
  • Assist with the creation and analysis of Company budgets.
  • Assist with independent auditor relationships and audit engagements, including audits relating to indirect accounting functions. Help manage the CPA firm on annual tax planning, preparation, and filing at the company level.
  • Maintain compliance with state business filings for various corporate entities.
  • Perform ad hoc responsibilities as requested by the Financial Contract Manager and President.

Qualifications

  • BS/BA in Accounting, Finance, or related discipline. 
  • Minimum of 2+ years as Staff Accountant with a track record of success and increasing responsibility or relevant combination of education and experience.

Required Skills

  • Must have knowledge of Federal Acquisition Regulations (FAR) as applicable to overseeing company’s Indirect Cost Rate.
  • Strong analytical and organizational skills. Strong analytical and quantitative abilities with good understanding of mathematical concepts.
  • Knowledge of policies, procedures, and systems of internal control, especially around revenue recognition.
  • Superb business software knowledge; expert technology user. Deltek Vision or other project-based accounting system experience. Expertise in Microsoft Office products (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Access). Demonstrated experience using Excel to build and maintain complex financial models as well as perform financial and data analysis. 
  • Keen attention to detail, with an ability to spot errors.
  • Ability to work in concert with contractors, consultants, and clients.
  • Ability to keep client satisfaction a top priority.

We are looking to hire a Public Outreach Specialist to join our team and help support communications and stakeholder engagement activities across a range of local and regional construction projects.

Essential Job Duties
• Research and develop detailed public involvement plans, stakeholder engagement plans, and public outreach strategy documents while ensuring compliance with state and federal Environmental Justice policy
• Develop marketing, design, and communication materials on behalf of clients
• Organize and host virtual events with a large group of people with Zoom, Teams, or similar virtual platform
• Facilitate public meetings (in-person and virtual)
• Perform content development, editorial review, and final production of communication materials
• Social media management, content development, and strategy
• Assist with proposal writing and business development
• Participate in project planning and scheduling
• Attend client and team meetings, issue agendas and minutes
• Develop and maintain detailed stakeholder contact databases
• Provide support to clients and other team members and help meet deadlines for internal and external deliverables

Required Skills
• Well-versed in content planning and creative communication strategies
• Demonstrated oral and written communication skills
• Strong Microsoft Office Suite skills, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
• Event scheduling experience, with excellent organizational and time management skills
• Familiar with virtual meeting platforms (i.e., Microsoft Teams, Zoom)

• Ability to build strategic customer relationships and ensure client satisfaction

Qualifications
• A Degree in Communications, Public Relations, Political Science, or equivalent professional experience
• 5+ years of experience in communications, public relations, legislative affairs, and public or private construction project administration
• Knowledge of local, State, and Federal public engagement policies and protocols, the MA State Open Meeting Law, Environmental Justice populations, accessibility requirements, and knowledge of municipal and state agencies are preferred
• Prior experience in road, bridge, transportation, rail, or construction industries is a plus

Winter Street Architects

Congratulations to the University of Massachusetts Amherst on the completion of their Fine Arts Center Bridge Renovation. City Point Partners served as the Owner’s Project Manager for this transformative project which was a gut renovation of the entire structure. We oversaw the upgrading of MEP building systems, improvements to classroom and studio spaces as well as increased daylighting throughout the 646-foot-long structure.

Construction Scheduler

City Point Partners is a construction services firm serving the engineering and construction industries. We are looking to hire an experienced Scheduler to join our Project Controls team.

Essential Job Duties

  • Develop full CPM schedule logic for construction projects, including milestones, procurement, construction, and closeout activities.
  • Assist with the development and maintenance of scheduling work breakdown structure (WBS) to ensure project coding is effectively used for all project control applications.
  • Participate in and lead project planning and scheduling review meetings and assist with communication and coordination of schedule input to project stakeholders.
  • Lead or assist in the development of program/project resources and cost-loaded schedules for design, procurement, start-up, construction, and close-out.
  • Responsible for assembling data for schedule development and updating.
  • Develop and maintain templates and layouts for project development and reporting.
  • Produce scheduling analysis and management reports and assist with tracking corrective actions.
  • Develop municipal and state agency requirements for contractor time determination schedules.
  • Develop contractor baseline schedule and achieve acceptance from agency reviewers.
  • Review and approve contractor baselines and schedule updates.
  • Review and develop updated and progressed schedules for monthly submissions conforming to contractor payment requisitions and prepare reports for project stakeholders.
  • Measure progress and review invoices of contractors to confirm schedule conformance.
  • Conduct or assist with performance measurement and associated schedule trends.
  • Update schedules for change orders and time impact determinations.
  • Analyze contractor schedules, schedule variances and construction data to identify key project issues and recommend corrective action.
  • Analyze contractor critical path updates, schedule progress, and evaluate schedule options.
  • Assist with coordination, reconciliation, and integration of functional schedules to maintain the project/program control schedule.

Required Skills

  • Hands-on scheduling experience and working knowledge of Oracle Primavera P6 and MSProject.
  • Working knowledge of field construction assemblies, sequencing and durations of work.
  • Ability to develop construction schedules, and incorporate changes to schedule baselines and updates. 
  • Knowledge of earned value methodology, scope control and change management.
  • Prior experience in road, bridge, aviation and/or rail projects, along with municipal or commercial building projects, is preferred.
  • Familiar with basic cost analysis and forecasting as it relates to planning and scheduling.
  • Familiar with construction contracting and the scheduling implications of contract terms.
  • Ability to use drawings and specifications for schedule development.  
  • Ability to resource load schedule and perform remedial schedule risk analysis.

Qualifications

  • A degree in Civil Engineering and five years of experience in construction project scheduling.
  • Experience with public transportation agencies such as MassDOT, MBTA, RIDOT, or similar client types is preferred.
  • Demonstrated verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work in concert with contractors, consultants, and clients; and to maintain client satisfaction as a top priority.

Essential Job Duties

The Document Control Manager administers and maintains the document control management process for multiple projects in accordance with each project policy and procedure. Duties and responsibilities include:

  • Implementing and maintaining the project’s document folder structure with multiple project management/document management software
  • Managing and tracking the circulation of project documents
  • Conducting a quality assurance audit process on submitted files to ensure compliance
  • Consolidating review comments, resolving discrepancies, and finalizing responses
  • Tracking and maintaining a record of project documents such as RFIs, Change Orders, Correspondence, Non-Conformance Reports, and contractor submittals
  • Participating in document control meetings and other required project meetings
  • Coordinating contract document control closeout activities

Qualifications

  • A Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent work experience in construction/engineering document control

Required Skills

  • Exceptional organizational, proof-reading and quality control skills
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite, and Adobe Acrobat Pro or Bluebeam Revu
  • Excellent interpersonal and written communication skills
  • Excellent time management skills and ability to meet deadlines
