Project Description

The Town of Wayland is renovating an existing 12,000 SF underutilized, never-completed municipal building to provide space for programs and services for the Council on Aging and activities and classes for the Recreation Department. Space will also be available for use by community organizations and Town meetings. The renovation consists of a full interior fit-out and complete envelope upgrade with an energy-efficient design. New solar panel canopies will be installed above the 100-space parking lot and will supplement the power used by the building. The CoA/CC is adjacent to the Sudbury River, Town Center, and Route 20.

City Point Partners oversees the renovation’s design, bidding, and construction. We also provided cost estimation reviews for the project.

Project Description

A PTC/ATC safety system is designed to prevent train-to-train collisions, over-speed derailments, train movements into established work zone limits, and movement of trains through track switches that may have been left in the incorrect position.

Implementation of the MBTA’s PTC/ATC system covers 394 combined Commuter Rail track miles. Phase I, PTC implementation, was completed in 2020. Phase II, ATC implementation, was completed in 2020 for trains originating from South Station and is ongoing for trains originating from North Station.

City Point Partners is coordinating the public information program which includes many weekend Commuter Rail service shutdowns and implementation of alternative busing service.

We are also providing updates and tracking of contractor payments and schedules as well as other project controls directives.

PROJECT DESCRIPTION

Originally built in 1911, the Gloucester drawbridge supports the Newbury/Rockport MBTA Commuter Rail line over the Annisquam River. The MBTA suspended service across the bridge in 2020 due to site conditions and decided to replace the bridge. The existing single two-track moveable draw is being replaced with two new single-track moveable drawers, with new piers and abutments. A new signal control tower is being constructed with mechanical and electrical systems integrated with the railroad signal system. City Point Partners provides independent cost estimates during construction phase services.
